The Nintendo Nintendogs game caught my eye a few months ago at Game Stop. Afer a few months of looking at it (I have not played any video games since high school), I finally decided to get it. I was too curious about getting a virtual Puggy. Plus, who could resist a pink colored Nintendo DS Lite? So cute! I also got Yoshi’s Island and Cooking Mama. I am planning on cooking some Japanese style fried chicken after playing Cooking Mama. In the game, you follow step by step cooking instructions so it’s cool for someone like me, who does not cook often and could use some coaching in the kitchen. Cooking Mama is pretty cool for those who like a simple video game about cooking. It teaches you some basic recipes, how to prepare them from beginning (like cracking an egg and mixing ingredients), how to cook them in the pan (gives you tricks on how to cook evenly, move the pan, and add other ingredients/seasoning), and most importantly, it instills the need for precision while being time efficient. For example, when making an omelet (which is one of the recipes it teaches), if you don’t add the ingredients quickly at the right time and place, while continuing to spring the pan up and down, then fold right away, your omelet will burn, and have to be thrown away.
Here is Boogey, our new virtual family member. He is a quiet and easy going male Pug puppy. He has learned to sit, lay down, and roll over. He acts just like Brownie, except he (Boogey) can do tricks. All of his behavior and antics are very Pugly. The game creators did an awesome job!

Porky turned 3 on April 23rd and Brownie turned 2 on April 28th. They are big boys now! We decided to have a small celebration at home since Porky’s heat spots are still not healed. I made the boys an all Organic Ginger & Banana Cake (I included recipe below as it was delicious and surprisingly, no diarrhea the next day). PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME BAKING…I PROMISE IT WILL BE PRETTIER NEXT TIME. For the bakers out there, I totally see why you guys love it. It was tricky writing with the icing and then it melted faster than we expected. I had so much fun baking my first cake for the boys, I made chocolate brownies the next day (for humans of course).

(Porky getting antsy to eat already.)
Dad, the candles are blown, can we eat NOW? (PORKY)
(left to right, Brownie, Porky – dig in!)
(Brownie’s eyes are popping…he is in shock and tongue envy because Porky is licking so fast. Porky has a huge, long tongue while Brownie in comparison, has a little lizard tongue.)
Don’t bother me, I’m eating! (PORKY)
Gosh, Pork’s tongue is so long! I need to catch up before he eats everything! (BROWNIE)
(left to right, Brownie, Porky)
Yummy in my Pug tummy! (PORKY)
Hmmm…how do I get in there? (PORKY)
(They licked off ALL the banana frosting, but then did not know how to bite into the cake, so Mom saved the day by cutting off a piece for each Pug. Note any dog cake or food your Puggy is not use to should be given in small portions or else they get diarrhea.)
(Porky is a huge foodie and has great table manners. He doesn’t spill and knows how to eat things just like the rest of us, a bite at a time, with the cake on the plate. Brownie on the other hand, takes his off the plate and eats it off the ground and gets it all over the floor. Here is Porky taking the first bite.)
(Brownie does not know what to do…he bites into the cake and drops it on the floor and starts eating.)
(Porky’s almost done with his cake now)
(Brownie is also finishing up his slice…on the floor. Notice what I mean about Brownie’s small tongue?)

Even though I have heat spots, I don’t have a broken spirit! Check me out in my new Skull Lilytank. I look like a Macho Puggy and muy guapo…don’t ya think so? (PORKY)
Is Mom eating ice cream? (PORKY)
PS – Nancy, if you are reading this and like what you see, call me girl! (PORKY)
(Note that Porky really wants to meet Nancy, Jessica Alba’s Pug).

Porky is feeling much better now! He enjoyed all the kisses and hugs from everyone…thanks!!!
We have been 24/7 nurses here and Pork has been depressed because he really wants to scratch his scabs.
To cheer him up (and prevent him from scratching), Dad held Pork in his arms to watch TV.
Although Pork was dying to itch his scab, he forgot about it and took a nap. He was so happy to cuddle with Dad (he is a huge Daddy’s boy).

Oh my gosh, Brownie is rocking his new Dragon Denim Jeans! He decided to pair it up with his favorite Chi WOW WOW Vintage Tee. For those who don’t know about Chi WOW WOW, everything in their vintage couture collection is one of a kind, one style, one size. Brownie is wearing a LA Dodgers tee. Do you think Brownie dresses better than Porky (check him out here in his Denim Overalls).
Oh yeah, I was too lazy to adjust the suspenders so we cheated and used it as a belt. The boys are anxiously waiting while Dad cooks their dinner.
Brownie passed by Pork and showed off his new couture…
“Who’s better looking now?! I am the hippest Pugster…that’s Mr. Brown to you my Brother!” (Brownie)

I was cleaning both Puggies’ ears and folds when I noticed a lot of blood on Porky and all these huge open infected wounds (I later learned from the Vet this is medically or commonly referred to as heat spots). We were freaked out since we thought he got that from fighting with Brownie since B loves to chew and tug at Pork’s fur/skin. We rushed him to the Vet immediately. He was there most of the day. They gave him an IV with Penicillin to stop any infections. He ended up getting a reaction so then they gave him some steroids. Needless to say our weekend was a bit shot after this. These hairless, bloody patches are all over his neck and upper back…we have to give him anti-biotics, Benadryl (makes him more comfortable so he doesn’t itch the spots non-stop), spray antiseptics, clean paws with alcohol, and clean wounds with hydrogen peroxide. Dad has been sleeping in the guest room with him and hugging him all night so he doesn’t scratch it (which may lead to infection all over his body and a never ending infection with nasty scars). So all day long I am working with this pig sitting on my lap, sleeping at my feet, and being my shadow…he is staring at me right now. Oh yeah, since he licks his paws, we can’t kiss him anymore because his nails has too much bacteria from scratching the infected area…it’s really disgusting and a lot of work. Poor Brownie lost all freedom since we can’t have him lick it or cause further damage. Pork is getting some major TLC right now. *HUGE SIGH*
These shots were snap after we came back from the Vet…everything cleaned, injured areas shaved, drugged on meds…yellow tape on his leg is from the IV.

I included a few thumbnails of the Lake. We get interesting habitants and visitors like birds, ducks, rabbits, etc…they are so cute!
The man across the lake is our neighbor with a Cocker Spaniel. She is shy and does not like to socialize with other dogs or humans. I don’t think she gets out much. But her parents treat her like their baby and princess of the house. Their pittbull stays outside…
Here we are walking back home. Notice the panting…they really wanted to run around today.

Houston is not known for great weather but the last two weeks has been slightly dry, warm breeze, and sunny…oh yeah, and we love it! We have been taking walks around the Lake (it’s a small manmade lake for jogging, walking baby strollers, and of course, dog walking).
Here we are leaving the house…it’s so nice to get out! We got really tired of the rain. Thank goodness for the 1-2 months of decent weather.
I am sure fans of “Dog Whisperer” and Cesar would appreciate the boys walking so nice on their leads.

Here’s Brownie under the table, playing near my feet. He likes to nap with his head laying on one of my foot (I tried to get camera for picture but woke him up and missed it).
