Brownie’s new duck toy sure caused a stir on our otherwise calm day…
Porky was napping with Dad quietly but then got tired of looking at Brownie having fun with his new ducky toy. (Notice Porky’s evil stare)
Brownie is having lots of fun with Mr. Plush Duck.
Porky jumps in and decides to conquer the new toy…
Little buddy, you know everything in this house belongs to me? I am no. 2 in this pack and get first pick on everything…Mr. Duck is mine! (Porky)
I’m not a puppy anymore…you can’t bully me around! You wanna fight? You got yourself a fight! (Brownie)
We are brothers…let’s forget about the whole thing and kiss and make up? I am tired…I want to get some treats and nap again. (Porky)
And the two pug brothers kiss, make up, and take a restful nap together with their Dad.

Porky and Brownie both got new toys today but as we all know, nobody wants to play with their own toys. They both like to fight over one thing. Porky got a new Maggie Caterpillar Organic Plush Toy and Brownie got new Duck. Since Pork was more interested in treats, we gave the toy to Brownie…then Pork wanted it back…
It’s mine! (Brown)
Now that Brownie is playing with it, I kinda want it back…(Pork)
Interesting grooves…what type of species is this? (Brown)
Brownie continues to study this new toy while Porky seems to be obsessed over something on his paw.
Brothers sharing their new toy? Could this be?
Brownie is getting sleepy after 20 minutes of studying this new toy. Porky found something interesting on his paw and arm? I don’t know…his face is telling me he found something very interesting…

A while back I posted on “Are you my Brownie?” and how we thought we brought home the wrong Pug because it did not look like our Brownie. Here’s a few pictures from that day. Does this look like Brownie?

Here’s some cute group photos (this is the best group photo we could get since the little guys were running around like crazy pigs…I mean pugs). More PugNic photos on the Flickr Recent Photos on the left.
This is what true love is all about…I felt the love from the Pugs and the mutual joy of Pug and parent…being owned by Pugs is wonderful!
Here comes Porky…

Brownie is sniffing out Rascal and wondering if Rascal is a Pug because he looks different…
All the Puggies are wondering why Rascal is different…
Kritter is wondering where his Brother Rascal and Sister Peekaboo went…Peekaboo is right behind you Kritter.
I think someone is giving away treaties over there…
Kritter and his Dad having a moment…we love this picture! (They have the same smile…or is it just me?)
Peekaboo is one of the cutest dogs we have ever seen…we love Frenchies!
Peekaboo giving the treat bearer some kisses…he doesn’t know that Peekaboo likes to eat poopoo…let’s not say anything…
Who can resist this face?
We will miss our friends Kritter, Rascal, and Peekaboo from flatnosedpups since they are moving to Austin. We were able to catch up and hang out at the PugNic event hosted by Pug Hearts Houston Pug Rescue. It was so fun to dress everyone up and match…Kritter and Porky have similar body types, we kept getting them confused. Pugs and Frenchies make the best herd! And every picture is adorable and precious!

Recent news of pet food recalls have got all of us pet owners extremely nervous. Now the situation has gone from bad to worst. Why has no criminal investigation been launched? How many of our dog and cat family members have to die before officials and these pet food manufacturers shape up? While Menu Foods, a large pet food manufacturer continues to make big bucks at the expense of our pet’s health, the state and federal officials have not taken any action. Pet foods do not undergo rigerous testing before it hits the market…the actual “testing” takes place when our pets consume it…once enough media frenzy gets on subject, we finally get a recall. This does not solve the problem of how to we as consumers regan our confidence in mass manufactured pet foods and what will they do to prevent this in the future? This is just disturbing and makes me sick.
A toxin found in the recent Menu Foods massive pet food recall now identified as aminopterin, used as rat poison in some countries and is used in the states as cancer drug. It inhibits the growth of malignant cells and suppresses the immune system.
According to Associated Press,
Scientists at the New York State Animal Health Diagnostic Center at Cornell and at the New York State Food Laboratory tested three cat food samples provided by Menu Foods and found Aminopterin in two of them. Hooker said they would test individual components of the pet food, as well. The early test results were released to give veterinarians a better idea of how to treat sick animals.
According to Donald Smith, dean of Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, aminopterin in dogs and cats, can cause kidney failure.
Aoociaited Press also noted so far,
The pet deaths led to a recall of 60 million cans and pouches of pet food produced by Menu Foods and sold throughout North America under 95 brand names. There have been several reports of kidney failure in pets that ate the recalled brands, and the company has confirmed the deaths of 15 cats and one dog.
A complete list of the recalled products along with product codes, descriptions and production dates was posted online by Menu Foods and is available at http://tinyurl.com/2pn6mm. The company also designated two phone numbers that pet owners could call for information: (866) 463-6738 and (866) 895-2708.

(Sniff..Sniff) What’s over there? Let me go there and leave my mark (Porky)
What’s with the film cam? I know I look good. Where’s the treats? (Porky) (Brownie following his Brother around in the background while Channel 2 Houston News continues to film footage of PugNic event)
Ou! I just saw a man with treats! I am coming over… (Porky)
Give me treats! Look at this adorable pug face….treats…ha-ha-ha (Porky breathing hard and snorting a little)
Come on! Gimme gimme! What do you have there? (Porky)
I would sit for you but I don’t want to get my vintage couture dirty. It’s brand new. Now bring on those treaties and I will leave you alone once you give them all to me. (Porky)
It’s been a while since I posted some pictures since work has been crazy. I finally downloaded this software by Picture Resize Genius and it’s fantastic! You can download the trial version and try it yourself. It does batch photo resizing and other minor edit stuff. It saves a lot of time because I had 262 pictures from the Pug Meetup earlier in the month and the PugNic event hosted by Pug Hearts Houston Pug Rescue. I will batch load onto Flickr tonight so that will be available for your viewing pleasure. As for the post, I will be posting throughout weekend and split it up since there are just way too many cute pictures and they all deserve to be viewed!
Here is Porky showing off his new Bristish Punk Kilt and Skull Tank by Chi WOW WOW. Chi WOW WOW is one of our favorite pet clothing designers because we love vintage style and everything is made for boys (girls can wear it too). It’s like vintage D&G meets Diesel, with a pinch of Miss Sixty! A lot of the stuff is one of a kind, so there is only 1 of each style. Check out the cool, hip vintage fashions from Chi WOW WOW!

PLEASE check out this CNN.com article on the recent massive Pet Food Recall http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/03/17/petfood.recall.ap/index.html. It’s so scary because Nutro was on here and I know a lot of Puggies, including our Porky & Brownie, are fed Nutro. Porky & Brownie eat Nutro Ultra Adult dry kibble (phew!) which was not on the recall list.
According to CNN.com,
Menu Foods — a major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands — recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths. An unknown number of cats and dogs suffered kidney failure and about 10 died after eating the affected pet food, the company said in announcing the North American recall.
I listed some of the major dog food brands affteced. Go to Menu Food’s website for the recalled specific Brands, Types, Package dates, and other information to determine if this has affteced your pets. CLICK HERE NOW to go to recall pages or call 1-866-895-2708. Do this NOW please!!! NOTE: Cats are also affected but I only included dog information. Don’t forget to check Menu Food’s Cat Recall info for those who have kitties.

Do Brownie and Roy (from Gwen & Roy) look a like?
