The Pugs were out sniffing and did not want to come back in. Both boys were very curious…what happened to all the grass? They have seriously peed on every inch of the grass and concrete patio…what happened to their markings and scents?
They love their new backyard! How should we decorate it? Any suggestions on where to get nice, affordable patio furniture? More pics to come.
I didn’t get up early enough to take before pics so these are old ones I dug up to give you guys an idea of the backyard before we started work. There’s a whole lot of grass and barely any patio hardscape for us to use. We really wanted to have more outside living space…the Pugs want to bask.
Brownie is a very sound sleeper and rarely gets up during the night. However, any slight sound or movement, Porky will be up and alert. Usually when we all sleep, he is always thinking and restless. He stresses out a lot over security issues (he is our official guard dog), tomorrow’s menu of food and treats, and how he is going to make Mom take him out all day. Maybe he is worried about his health and who will protect us in his absence (God forbid). Or maybe he is reminiscing over good old days…he is approaching senior Pug age. It’s sad how fast these little guys ago. I think we are both going through denial about our age! Ha! What do you think Porky is thinking about?
Pork has been on his California Natural Herring & Potatoe food for a few months now. All is great! His back hips seem to be working better and not dragging as much (yeah for Omega 3s!). His poop does not smell as toxic. And he seems to love his new fish food. The cons are the extra weight gain and for whatever reason, he loves to eat his fish poop. After a rough few months, his normal clownster self is back. He loves to smile, bark, and be the center of all chaos!
At his usual post…guarding the kitchen. Hoping and dreaming that something will spill and he will get a tiny morsel of delicious food.
Hi Everydoggy. After Hurricane Ike, I am just swamped. Since I have a rather long (almost 3 weeks) business trip coming up, I shipped the Pugs to San Diego to live with my Mom. I am always paranoid when I leave them at the doggy hotel…and they always end up with something weird afterwards (Porky had diarrhea and stomach problems for a while and Brownie had mange twice). It’s not always the pet hotel’s fault. It’s hard to get the same kind of care and attention when they are inside of a little room all day. The doggy day care stuff is fun but at $20-30/day, per dog, it’s really expensive. Porky loves the doggy day care but Brownie doesn’t really like to play for a long period of time. It’s actual cheaper for me to ship them to my parents in San Diego and they always transition very well. Grandma has been \warned to stick with 1-2 treats per day and strict feeding guidelines. Both Pugs always come back from their visit with Grandma 5-10lbs heavier, which is not good. It takes me a long time to get them back to there normal weight of 20-23lbs (still overweight but acceptable). Here is a picture of Brownie..he’s so cute. Talk to everydoggy in 3 weeks!
Brownie LOVES toys…especially the ones that are bigger than him. He drags them all over the house.
Brownie’s toys…just the upstairs. He has more down there and laying all over the house.
We love toys in this house. We try to maintain an adult living space downstairs. There is a kiddy room upstairs (for our guest with kids) where we have all the toys…
The boys have been climbing up the side like cats to get up to the back of the yard, where they dig up holes to bury their bones and sniff for 15 minutes or longer to do their business. They were too cute. I have two PugCats.
As we are traveling and moving during this time, we have missed reading everyone’s blogs and writing more. I am looking forward to going back to my blogging routine once the dust settles on the move and we return to the states. Until then, enjoy these beautiful pictures of the boys at their human Grandparents’ home in San Diego. They will be there for two months. I miss them already.
