Meme: Adore Le Pug

August 13th, 2008 at 10:48 pm

After catching up with some old tags and learning what a meme is and reading a few of our friends, I decided to start our very own.

Rules: Obey the Pug, answer the following, and pass on!

1) How did you first learn about Pugs?

The first time was when I worked in a restaurant in high school, and one of our regular customers had a Pug.  They always left the Pug in the car while they ate dinner (this was on the beach so it’s nice and cool…windows opened of course).  After the husband ate, he would bring the Pug out for a walk and spoon feed the Pug!  Apparently this Pug had her own bedroom, fancy auto feeder, and was extremely pampered!  She was so sweet and funny.

2)  What made you get a Pug?

Read #1.  Maybe 10 years later, I still remembered that sweet Pug.  In fact, that family still visits that restaurant I worked at even till this day!  One night my husband and I were at an all night poker game and all the girsl brought their dogs…they were all small tiny dogs.  I was bored (not much for gambling when I am losing) and started playing with the dogs.  Something seriously clicked inside…perhaps my internal clock ticking and in need of mothering ad nurturing.  I have always had a deep fondness for Pugs (I had Pug tees, mugs, etc.).  My husband and I both adored Pugs so a few days later we got Porky.

3) Most memorable moment with your Pug (s).

WARNING: Do not read if you can’t stomach worm stories.

Let me start by saying Porky was my first dog.  The first week I brought Porky home, he had roundworms (I had no clue at the time what it was).  I discovered it in his poop and totally freaked out (understatement).  Late one Saturday evening, I noticed some spaghetti looking white thing in his poop.  I start investigating and then screaming.  Prior to Pug ownership, I was a neurotic type A, anal person.  My house was more like a hotel and impeccably clean.  So as you can imagine, I freaked out big time.  Then I discovered a long thick piece of spaghetti (uummm..worm) sticking out of his butt…area.  It was nearly midnight and not exactly an appropriate emergency topic plus either way, I had to figure a way to remove it or touch it to get Porky into the crate to the emergency Vet.  So I got a bunch of huge Bounty towel paper, yelled and screamed till I lost my voice, and went dirently for Porky’s butt.  The 10+ plus sheets of towels between my hand and Porky’s butt, I covered his whole butt, pinched, closed my eyes and then pulled (more like backed away from him).  I screamed and screamed…and then completely freaked out as Porky ran away from me…and this super long white spaghetti came out.  My legs weaken…I almost fainted and then completely lost my voice.

I have so many wonderful memories with Porky & Brownie but this one is definitely the most memorable…I wish it wasn’t!

4)  What is the most important thing Pugs (or dogs) have taught you?

Having my Pugs has taught me a lot about the simple things in life.  Prior to them, I worked long hours and work was my life.  Every minute of the day had to be spent on productive activities.  After getting Porky, I wanted to be a good pet parent.  There was a lot of anxiety issues and destruction because he was lonely.  I read up a lot and took him to puppy classes.  I spent most of my free weekends going to doggy meetups and socials/parties.  I learned to lighten up, relax and enjoy life, and most importantly, understand and learn unconditional love.  They love me unconditionally…and I love them.  They are my fur babies.

5)  Best Thing You Ever Did For Your Pugs….aside from loving them, keeping them healthy & happy, and giving them a great life.

This blog!  After moving to Houston from LA, I decided to take a break from corporate life.  I started this blog on (now we have our own host with wordpress blog service) and met lots of doggy friends.  It can get super addictve to read dog blogs!  Hehe.  What started out as fun lead to a new career in the pet business!  I left my corporate career behind for a much simpler life.  I work at now with my two Pugs…yes, I get to bring them both everyday!  We also get to sleep in (I use to get up everyday at 5-6am!), go everywhere together, and come home early to have dinner with Dad.  No more working late into the night.  I always enjoyed working and being challenged, but as I got older, I realized spending quality time with family and friends is far more important.  We love our life!  (Thanks to the husband for working hard and giving us this great life…because my job only pays for the dogs’ clothes and treats now!)

6) Post your answers on why you “Adore Le Pug” on your blog and link to the blog who tagged you (or their blog post).

7)  Tag 5 or more other bloggers.

Since we started this, we tag all of you!

Blogging Puggy: Working Overtime

May 4th, 2007 at 12:13 pm

Porky works passionately on our Adore Le Pug blog and enjoys reading comments and visiting all of his Pugroll friends.  While visiting his good friends from Flat Nosed Pups and checking out their back yard playdate video, he got really worked up as he wanted to included in the fun.

Porky wanted to make sure he read everything and commented on every post…he worked ferociously, late into the night.

Hanging out with Flatnosedpups at Pugnic

March 25th, 2007 at 5:08 pm

Brownie is sniffing out Rascal and wondering if Rascal is a Pug because he looks different…

All the Puggies are wondering why Rascal is different…

Kritter is wondering where his Brother Rascal and Sister Peekaboo went…Peekaboo is right behind you Kritter.

I think someone is giving away treaties over there…

Kritter and his Dad having a moment…we love this picture! (They have the same smile…or is it just me?)

Peekaboo is one of the cutest dogs we have ever seen…we love Frenchies!

Peekaboo giving the treat bearer some kisses…he doesn’t know that Peekaboo likes to eat poopoo…let’s not say anything…
Who can resist this face?

We will miss our friends Kritter, Rascal, and Peekaboo from flatnosedpups since they are moving to Austin. We were able to catch up and hang out at the PugNic event hosted by <a href=””>Pug Hearts Houston Pug Rescue</a>. It was so fun to dress everyone up and match…Kritter and Porky have similar body types, we kept getting them confused. Pugs and Frenchies make the best herd! And every picture is adorable and precious! :)

Do these two pugs look a like?

Do Brownie and Roy (from Gwen & Roy) look a like?

Please let us know what you think of the new blog

March 11th, 2007 at 3:10 am

Hey everyone, please let us know what you think! We tried to make it a bit more fun…Pug shenanigans and everyday life needs extra cuteness! Throw us a bone! Just click on the number of bones below each post…how cool is that! We included a Link to Us for those that want an image and link.

What do you think of the Categories? Did I miss an categories? Is there any that needs to go?

Since I had to manually repost as the new Blogger does not permit importing post and comments, we lost all of our comments.  Please leave us some comments! :)

Yeah…we moved to our permanent home at!

March 11th, 2007 at 2:57 am

We have been super busy moving everything over from blogger. For those of you using Blogger and thinking about moving to another blog software, beware! Do not change to NEW Blogger. Once you change over (which we did back in January), you can’t do a post and comment import. Most of the import plugins only work with Classic old school Blogger Beta. There are some stuff that you can try but the whole experience is complicated and it just seemed a whole lot easier to manually repost, plus I get to know Worldpress.

We have tons of pictures from the March Pug Meetup and the PugNic.  Now with Worldpress, we have to specify the width for the images so everything takes a bit getting use to.  I am on it!

we’ve been Christmas Tagged by Winston

December 19th, 2006 at 3:13 am

<a href=””><img style=”float:center; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;” src=”” border=”0″ alt=”" /></a>
We have been busy with the holidays and preparing for visits from out of towners.  Since we just moved into our new home a few months ago from a much smaller house, we have no furniture to fill our house.  It’s been fun weekends attacking the furniture stores and staring at blank walls for inspiration on decor. It’s not easy shopping for furniture when you have two crazy pugs running around like…pugs (aka wild animals).  *~~* Since we have been behind on the holiday shopping, we got some toys for the boys to hold them over until the new bed.  You can also see here that our living room has no furniture, with one rug. But the boys love it because they can run around like crazy and attack each other.

Since we got tagged, we have been giving some thought so here we go…

<b>3 Things I want:</b>

1) my own cook
2) hard white bone chew with filled treats (unlimited)
3) live with Grandma since she gives me all kinds of treats everyday…did I mention I gained near 10 lbs living with her for 6 months?!
4) to be the only dog…I hate sharing food and treats with Brownie
5) freedom to dig in all trash cans in the house
6) someone cleaning my toilet non-stop (I like a clean toilet when I go)
…wait a minute…I went beyond 3…there are too many things I want… *sigh*

1) more long snake toys
2) to be able to go with Mom to work again…Mom calls me a cling-on
3) to go potty whereever I want in the house and not feel guilty or ashamed
I don’t want much…just to be with Mommy all the time!

<b>3 Things I do not want:</b>

1) share treats with anyone
2) disrupting my beauty sleep
3) dog food

1) share toys/treats/bed with Pork
2) more girl clothes …note to Mom, I am a boy!
3) pork stealing my treats

<b>we are tagging:</b>Life of a Pug (Milo), Flat Nosed Pups (Kritter, Gizmo, Rascal, Peekaboo), Sadie the Pug Pooch, Willow & Belle, Elvis & Izzy at ChiWowWow

You must each give three things you want for Christmas, three things you don’t and tag five friends.

Hope everyone gets what they want for Christmas!

Have a Puglicious Holiday and stay safe!
