The Morning After

July 14th, 2007 at 4:58 pm

I found the boys like this in the morning.  They are seriously in love with Porky’s new Woodie Car Bed.

(Both boys slept very soundly and had beautiful Pug dreams…sleeping alone on this bed!) :)

“This bed was comfy Mom but would have been better without the brat kicking at me.” (PORKY)

“Is it morning already?” (BROWNIE)

“What’s for breakfast Mom?  I want milk with my dry crappy dog food.  Make that lowfat milk.” (PORKY)

“Hey, I did not get beat up last night.  Cool.” (BROWNIE)

“I want my own car bed Mom.  I slept GOOOOOD.” (BROWNIE)

Brownie’s bed was empty.

Another Lazy Saturday

Enjoying life as the Princes of the house…

Brownie devouring into his pork knot.  Yummy.

Porky (below) is an expert at devouring treats and begging for them as well.  His ability to use his paws (all paws on deck…seriously) to tackle a chew toy or treat is very impressive.  He can take apart anything and kill any toy.  He killed an indestructable Bamboo camo star toy when he was only a 8 week puppy (that was his first toy ever)!  A skill Brownie has yet to master nor get close.  Notice he likes to close his eyes when he is busy with a treat.  His name is very befitting to his love, FOOD.

They chased off their humans and now have their Seabury Sofa (it’s a feather down) from Pottery Barn all to themselves.  Yes, we love Pottery Barn in this house!  In fact, we think Pottery Barn should ask P & B to model for one of their catalogs!

Baked Yams (Sweet Potatoes) = Pug Passions

June 7th, 2007 at 8:06 pm

We love love love baked yams (aka sweet pototoes)!  Yum yum!  Fellow Puggies, tell your parents to make it for you, it’s so easy!

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to bake 350
4-6 Yams/Sweet Potatoes (one for everyone…who doesn’t love baked yams???)
Use thin blade knife or fork to poke a few holes
Wrap in Reynolds or any aluminum foil
Let it cook for 1.5 hours or 90 minutes

NOTE there are short cut methods but slow cooking will make skin extra chewy and the insides will be very soft for Puggies and their humans, too!

Cool software note:  This new picture resizer (by Picture Resize) software I use auto adds watermarks to pics so I thought I would give it a try and test it.  Pretty cool and saves me a bundle of time from resizing all my thousands of fabulous Pug pics.

Pug Passions: Pork Knots

May 25th, 2007 at 9:00 pm

Porky will now demonstrate how to properly devour a Pork Knot treat (like a raw hide but more safe).  He was working very hard at the office…as you can tell.

Long Snake = Fighter Pugs

May 22nd, 2007 at 12:42 pm

As most of you already know, I (Brownie) love love my plush toys, especially the snakes.  Pretty much Porky has first call on food and I have first call on toys.  Porky was bored and took one of my snakes to play and I was not having it. It’s mine! (BROWNIE)

Brownie loves his rawhide!

More watermelon please!

August 31st, 2006 at 3:45 am

It’s a known fact that all pugs love to eat, eat, and eat some more. Then nap of course. Our Brownie loves fruits, especially watermelon. We usually cut the watermelon in half and eat it with a spoon while watching TV. Brownie loves to stick his head on top of the watermelon and attack each spoonful. I have never seen him move his head so fast! Meanwhile, when he does get a piece, he relaxes and lounges on a pillow or the couch, then devours his treat. He also enjoys watching “Dog Whisperer”. He soemtimes thinks the dogs are barking at him and he gets really excited.

I have now reduced dog treats and increased more all natural treats consisting of some soy yogurt, watermelon, apple, peaches, and salad. I found this has reduced the odor from his stools as well as help him trim down. As with all other pugs, our Porky and Brownie are both overweight. Brown is now at a healthy weight and much more active. We have also noticed he eats more since we started switching off his food every month or so. We realized it’s hard to eat the same thing everyday so we try to change it up so he doesn’t get bored.

Chow down on the fruits!

What’s the deal with tennis balls?

August 31st, 2006 at 3:43 am

We recently noticed Brownie’s deep obsession with playing with his tennis balls. He has small and medium size balls which we play fetch with. He can paw at the ball and try forever to get his mouth around the medium size one evern though it doesn’t fit. He is just so silly! His all time obsession is plush long toys in shapes of snakes, long horses, octapus, or anything similar. We have bought everything we have seen. If anyone has anything interesting plush toys to share, please let us know! Brownie loves them!
